A Surprise from Westfield

Two big parcels arrived this afternoon:

Care package from the mother ship
Inside, a nice collection of goodies: The silencer, Front wishbones, track rod ends, the differential, the brake master cylinders and a whole bunch of odds and ends - I can get one with building again.

Hopefully the uprights will arrive by the end of next week and we can get it on its wheels, which will mean time for the engine!

Some of the bits and pieces I have been waiting for

I wasn't going to do anything on it today, as I had stuff to sort out for the kitchen renovation (that is a whole other story), but I managed to convince Ron to pop by to help me with the LSD.

The slightest mention of hallucinogenic drugs got him right over and in the process we discovered there are two 115th streets in our neighborhood. He did seem to think I didn't knew where I lived.

Ron didn't seem too disappointed to learn that an LSD is a limited slip differential and it was a two-man job to fit, what with it being rather heavy and a tight fit.

Not the type of LSD that Ron had in mind
After a bit of choice language we did manage to get it all to align and fit, but getting some of the washers to slide in was a little bit of a struggle (just a matter of a bigger hammer), particularly as we spent at least 5 minutes trying to use one that was too small for the stud going through it (or not)!

A huge thanks to Ron, as I would not have been able to do that job by myself - too bad he won't be around this summer to help on the build.
