Received the final part of the care package from Westfield, which was the half-cage (safety protection in the unlikely event of driving upside-down). I won't be needing that for a while, so I have put it away. As it is in one piece, I am already wondering how I actually fit it through the body work.

ARB drop link with correct spacer |
Along with the half-cage came some missing bolts - so I was able to finish the rear anti-roll bar.
|
Rear ARB mount |
The bolts originally supplied with the kit were not long enough to fit the spacers provided, so everything was tightened up, after adding copperslip to the aluminum mounting brackets where the ARB fits - as you have to remove the powder coating on the ARB, the copperslip is needed to prevent corrosion (there was already evidence of some rust).

Driveshaft in |
I also fitted the rear driveshafts. The bolts are fitted without washers - just some threadlock and the proper torque. I have two torque wrenches and of course, the proper torque was higher than the smaller one's highest setting and lower than the large one's lowest setting! Oh well, I will have to get a mid-size one.
It is difficult to set the proper torque anyway without the driveshafts connected to the wheels, so have added "torque driveshafts" to my list of things to do.
Trial fitted the gas tank, just after I finished securing the brake lines. Guess what? I need to move the brake line to clear the fuel outlet on the bottom of the tank. No big deal, but I had done it really neatly and now it is a bit of a botch - not visible once the car is finished though.
Off to the Rocks for cocktails and to sign the various papers that need to be signed before closing on Friday. A mobile Notary and DJ (seriously) came to us with all the paperwork. That's it, we have sold our fraction (or will do, assuming nothing blows up between here and Friday). A sad day - a bit of a letdown really as it was very quiet, but at least Kurt was there and he agreed to let me be his date on Monday nights (as long as there is no funny stuff).
